CMEP condemns killing of 14-year-old American Palestinian in West Bank

CMEP has condemned the killing of 14-year-old American Palestinian Amir Rabee by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank on April 6, 2025. In a statement, CMEP described the incident as an “unspeakable tragedy” and a stark reminder of the human cost of ongoing violence and occupation. CMEP emphasized that such actions should not be normalized and called for moral outrage rather than silence. CMEP highlighted that Amir is the first American killed by Israeli forces in 2025, noting that five American citizens were killed in the West Bank and Gaza in 2024 without any resulting accountability or meaningful investigation. They criticized the U.S. government’s silence and inaction, urging President Trump to have addressed the issue during his meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu on April 7, 2025. CMEP also condemned the renewed promotion of plans for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Gaza and the forcible displacement of over forty thousand Palestinians in the West Bank, labeling such actions as grave violations of international law. Aditionally, CMEP called on the United States to pursue diplomatic engagement with Iran instead of resorting to military action, warning that escalation would lead to further chaos and loss of life. They concluded by offering prayers for Amir’s grieving family and reaffirming their commitment to peace, dignity, and security for all in the Holy Land.
