Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Fellowships typically, but not always, start in the fall. We look forward to your interest in carrying forward Ambassador Clark’s legacy of faith-based diplomacy and peacebuilding.
Ambassador Warren Clark was CMEP’s Executive Director from 2008-2016. He was a career U.S. Foreign Service officer in the Department of State, serving in the Middle East, Europe, Canada, Africa, and at the United Nations. He was Charge d’affaires in Lagos, Nigeria; the U.S. Ambassador in Libreville, Gabon; and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Africa in Washington. He worked on Middle East oil price negotiations, was State Department Desk Officer for Libya, and represented the United States on the UN Security Council for Middle East and African issues. In 2005 he earned a masters degree in theological studies from Virginia Theological Seminary. He worked on international programs at the Washington National Cathedral and chaired the Commission on Peace for the Episcopal Diocese of Washington. He also has served as a chaplain at Sibley Hospital.
Location: Remote (with potential for periodic Washington, DC engagements)
Duration: 1 year
Monthly Stipend: Commensurate with experience and specific project scope ($800-$1500/month range)

Through our mutually supportive partnership we seek to support local efforts, maximize effectiveness, and provide opportunities to expand impact and influence in Middle East peacebuilding efforts.
