Explore Opportunities in Peacemaking

Make an experience in peacemaking part of your educational career. Consider applying to the internship program at Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP). Spending a term with Churches for Middle East Peace will put you right into the middle of our work to encourage US government policies that actively promote a just, lasting, and comprehensive resolution of the Israel/Palestine Conflict and pursuing our policy objectives throughout the Middle East and North Africa region.

    • Work from our offices in Washington D.C. or remotely from the convenience of wherever you are.

    • Build experience in peacemaking and advocacy

    • Meet and engage with our international team of peacemakers and partners

    • Receive purposeful mentoring and opportunities to participate in CMEP’s work


CMEP interns have gone on to become:

    • Pastors

    • Fulbright scholars

    • Federal employees

    • Government staffers

    • Non-profit professionals

    • Graduate and doctoral students


CMEP is seeking inquisitive, independent, and enthusiastic undergraduate and graduate students interested in encouraging U.S. policies that actively promote just, lasting and comprehensive resolutions to conflicts in the Middle East through supporting and equipping grassroots advocacy and education. This is a volunteer internship–stipends are not available at this time.

Internships are available in:

    • Government and Advocacy

    • Communications

    • Middle East Partner Engagement

    • Education and Church Engagement

    • Development and Donor Engagement

    • Academics and Research

Qualified applicants are:

    • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student

    • Resourceful, hardworking, and organized with excellent communication and good writing and editing skills

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Docs and Spreadsheets

    • Deadline-oriented, organized, and able to work as part of a team

    • Can provide and use their own computer

    • Able to work 15-40 hours a week

We are currently accepting applications for fall, 2024 (term will run September-December). We take applications on a rolling basis until positions are filled.

Volunteer Opportunities for others who are not college students are also available.

Volunteer

Volunteering with CMEP provides an opportunity for concerned adults to engage more deeply in the work of CMEP by helping with writing/researching, administration, communications, or organizing.

Regional Coordinators

Regional Coordinators are vital members of CMEP’s work with essential roles in providing American Christians opportunities to support balanced and pertinent positions for U.S. policymakers that support peace in the Holy Land.

CMEP relies on partnership to promote a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, through a holistic resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Through our mutually supportive partnership we seek to support local efforts, maximize effectiveness, and provide opportunities to expand impact and influence in Middle East peacebuilding efforts.
