Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) uses three primary strategies to encourage U.S. policies that promote a just peace:
Educate: CMEP serves its coalition members and the broader US Christian community by providing opportunities to learn about the Middle East and a holistic approach to advocating for peace. These opportunities include speaking events across the U.S.; Pilgrimage to Peace (P2P) – CMEP’s domestic awareness tours with speakers from Israel, the Palestinian territories, and the broader Middle East; multi-narrative trips to the region; and resources for churches and small groups.
Elevate: CMEP serves to elevate voices of our coalition communions and organizations – Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, and Evangelical; and Israeli, Palestinian, and Middle Eastern peace activists who are advocating for equality, human rights, security, and justice for all people in the Middle East. Hear from these organizations and activists in our many webinars.
Advocate: CMEP serves to provide opportunities for individuals, groups, churches, and communions to advocate for just U.S. policies toward the Middle East through raising constituent voices; Hill and Government meetings; and Advocacy Summits.
