Cooking Class – Shakshuka
March 23, 2021 @ 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Take a culinary voyage of Middle Eastern food while also learning the history and personal stories behind the dish Shakshuka. We are partnering with MEJDI Tours for this event where you will cook along with both an Israeli and Palestinian as they make Shakshuka and talk about their connections with this dish. You’ll receive a recipe card, spice mix, and a small gift in the mail. Get your groceries and then join us to cook live with two chefs for a dual narrative cooking experience.
Due to shipping timelines, this must be purchased by March 8th.
Shakshuka is a simple (but substantial) one-skillet dish of gently poached eggs in a tasty mixture of simmering tomatoes, peppers, onions and garlic. A few spices are added, and they vary slightly from one recipe to another. It is appropriate to eat for any meal.
Registration includes a shipment of a special spice blend and the full recipe. You’ll want to plan to shop for the remaining ingredients before the two hour live cooking class and Q&A. The event will take place via Zoom on March 23, noon Eastern!
Registration is required by March 8th. The class is $40.
