Through events, resources, & trips to the region, Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) provides opportunities to learn about the Middle East and a holistic approach to advocating for peace.
You & your church can be advocates for just U.S. policies toward the Middle East by contacting your members of Congress; participating in Hill & Government meetings; & attending Advocacy Summits.
CMEP is eager and ready to work with this new administration and continue our work where there is policy alignment in holistic peacebuilding, supporting economic and humanitarian assistance, and human rights while working toward peace and just resolutions to conflicts in the Middle East.
Read Rev. Dr. Mae Elise Cannon’s latest article, cowritten by The Rev. Elizabeth A. Eaton, the Presiding Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. They explore how a new Congress and a new administration offer an opportunity for the U.S. to play a constructive role to reach a just peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
We know COVID-19 will have a disproportionate impact on those already marginalized, including Palestinians living under occupation. Congress and the Administration must take immediate action to ensure U.S. policy helps end the occupation and alleviate the suffering of Palestinians. During this time of physical distancing, we encourage you to reach out to your elected officials to demand they enact policies that will help contribute to a just future for all in Israel/Palestine.
